The 92 hectares of old-vine Tempranillo that were eventually selected produce fragrant, concentrated fruit on these poor, well-drained soils. Winemaking, managed as it is by Vega Sicilia, is exemplary, typifying the complex, textural house style while transparently expressing a very different terroir. The results are thrilling.

This wine is vinified in stainless steel tanks and aged for a period of between 12 and 14 months in new and second-year extra-fine grain French oak barrels and in single-use American oak barrels from Vega Sicilia to refine its structure.

Before being marketed, it is left to rest in the bottle for more than 18 months. The aging potential is between 10 and 15 years.
