Wine Description
The Umberto Cesari Moma Emilia Romagna Sangiovese Cabernet Sauvignon di Rubicone 2022 delivers a seamless blend of vibrant fruit and sophisticated elegance. Composed of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, this Italian red wine offers an inviting bouquet of smoky aromas, highlighted by blackcurrant and dark fruit notes. The richness of chocolate and vanilla enhances its smooth, approachable character.
The Sangiovese grape contributes a burst of intense purple plum aromas, while the late-harvested Cabernet Sauvignon brings a touch of softness and refinement. Subtle herbaceous undertones from the Merlot further enhance the complexity of this wine. The result is a balanced, velvety blend that finishes with lasting smoothness and depth.
This medium-bodied wine is perfect for pairing with a variety of dishes, from pasta with rich sauces to grilled meats. Its approachable profile makes it suitable for both casual sipping and more formal occasions.

Winery | Umberto Cesari is located in eastern Emilia-Romagna, where the vineyards cover eight fields. The estate is protected by the Calanchi Azzuri- the local badlands- a dry terrain where softer sedimentary rocks and clay-rich soils have been extensively eroded by wind and water. The Calanche Azzuri forms a crown-like structure of clay-based rocks. This combination of clay soils and the mild climate promotes ideal conditions for premium viticulture. The average age of the vines used to produce Moma is 15 years, yielding 8,000kg per hectare. Careful canopy management ensures the optimum amount of sunlight and shade, encouraging the clusters to reach optimum maturity. The vineyards are cultivated sustainably, and the grapes are hand-harvested. |
