From the renowned Meursault appellation, where the terroir at the bottom of the slopes has deep, clay soils with good water retention properties which help to nourish the
vines throughout any dry spells during the ripening period. The soil is more superficial and stonier at the top of the slope, where the vines are planted in limestone subsoil
which imparts the wines with elegance and distinct mineral nuances. The vineyard has an easterly exposure to the rising sun. The climate is continental, with cool winters
allowing the vine to rest and warm summers with good diurnal temperature shifts encouraging balanced ripening. The vineyard is in conversion to organic status, the vines are cultivated without the use of chemicals or herbicides and the ecology and biodiversity of the vineyard are respected. The vines, which have an average age of 50 years, are Guyot or Guyot-Poussard trained according to the needs of the vines and are carefully harvested by hand into 25-kg cases.
