- An aromatic and complex bouquet of baked apple, floral and balsamic notes, layered with nutty tones and a hint of minerality. The palate is fresh, rounded, and balanced, with a lovely texture, and finishes with stone fruits and a touch of almond.
The grapes were gently pressed without being destemmed and in a reductive environment; the absence of oxygen reduced the risk of oxidation of aromas. Fermentation took place spontaneously with natural yeasts at low temperatures in French oak vats. The wine was matured in French oak vats for nine months, with batonnage three times per week, to impart a broader texture to the palate.

Winery | This wine represents the perfect blend of the terroir and the cool-climate region, with its warm days and cool nights prolonging the ripening period and encouraging aromatic richness. The Viura grapes come from the sandy soils of the Najerilla, and the limestone soils of the Sonsierra, and are blended with Maturana Blanca from the Iregua Valley, grown in sandy soils. Maturana Blanca is an ancient native variety with small clusters and small, elliptical grapes which produces vibrant, tangy wines characterized by high, natural acidity. It is precocious in all stages of development and therefore vigilance is required in the vineyard. The vineyards are farmed using sustainable methods; chemical sprays are not used, instead organic products are employed to protect the environment and biodiversity of the vineyard. This sustainable approach encourages the best expression of the terroir and is a true reflection of the aromas and flavors of the white Rioja grape varieties. The grapes are hand-harvested at optimum phenolic maturity. |
