- A focused, powerful and creamy wine with aromas of roasted nuts, peach and sweet citrus blossom Complemented by complex oak spice. Citrus flavours and fine minerality lead to a refreshing finish. The Margaret River wine region is located in Western Australia and in less than 50 years has grown to become one of the world's great wine-producing regions. The fruit is grown in the Wilyabrup subregion, in a north-facing vineyard,
- Aromas of roasted nuts, peach and sweet citrus blossom aromas and complex oak spices. Flavours of citrus, mineral salts and a fine, long acidity.
Grown predominantly in the '24 Vineyard' in the Karridale subregion of southern Margaret River, the vines were planted in 1988 at a density of 1,850 vines per hectare. The vines are clone number 95 and 96 and are all grown on their own rootstocks. Situated facing a sunny, northern aspect to maximise sun exposure the vines are influenced by cooling breezes coming from the Southern Ocean, with warmer westerly breezes coming from the Indian Ocean. It is one of the best examples of a maritime climate in Australia.
The fruit was hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed directly into 60% new French oak, 40% 1 year old French oak from a combination of forests –Vosges, Troncais and Allier. Juice naturally fermented in barrel with only10% allowed to go through full malolactic fermentation.
