A blend of native varieties, the Trebbiano, Passerina, and Pecorino vines are grown at an elevation of 250 to 300 meters above sea level. The soil is rich in minerals and although it has a high clay content it offers good drainage. A Mediterranean climate is found throughout the region, with an average annual rainfall of 800 millimeters, mainly falling during the winter months, which builds water reserves in the soils to nourish the vines throughout the typically hot and dry summers. The vineyards are cultivated following organic principles, herbicides and pesticides are not used, which allows for the full expression of the terroir. The grapes are manually harvested when they have reached optimal ripeness.
