- Crafted from exceptionally ripe, late-harvested grapes, this wine emanates an intense aroma of cherry jam and blackberry, vividly embodying exuberant fruitiness. The palate equally exudes fruit-forward characteristics, complemented by discernible nuances of dark chocolate and licorice, which serve to temper the pronounced fruitiness. Notably, the wine maintains remarkable freshness and lightness despite its pronounced concentration and depth. It presents a velvety ruby red hue with garnet reflections, offering an array of aromas including berry jam, chocolate, black pepper, dried violet, carob, tobacco, cinnamon, face powder, mace, leather, licorice, vanilla, and menthol. On the palate, it delivers a savory, fresh, full, and elegant profile, accompanied by discernible notes of plum, black cherry, and blackberry. The wine culminates in a remarkably persistent finish, characterized by spicy notes of licorice and dark chocolate.

Grape variety : 100% Aglianico del Vulture.
Harvest: last ten days of November/first ten days of December.
Vinification: maceration for approximately 30 days and fermentation in steel.
Maturation: in French oak barrels and tonneaux placed in natural volcanic tuff caves for at least 24 months and further refinement for 12 months in the bottle.
Organoleptic test :
Color: ruby red color with garnet reflections, impenetrable.
Fragrance: notes of berry jam (plum, black cherry, blackberry, and blueberry), chocolate, black pepper, dried violet, carob, tobacco, cinnamon, face powder, mace, leather, licorice, vanilla, and menthol.
Taste: savory, fresh, full, and elegant with notes of plum, black cherry and blackberry. Very persistent finish, spicy with notes of licorice and dark chocolate.

| Winery | Cantine del Notaio in the green heart of the Basilicata region is a winery leader in the production of wines made from Aglianico del Vulture, a native variety grape. On the most vocated hills of the Vulture area, our grapes grow up at the slopes of the Vulture volcano. The roots deep down the soil take mineral elements and water from the common Tufo volcanic layer that acts as a water reservoir giving rest to the plants during the hottest days of the year. The wines obtained are full-bodied, and intense, with a complex carpet of balsamic notes and great minerality. The production range based on the Aglianico grape is open to different versions, not only the traditional red but also sparkling, rosè, and white. |
