Crafted from meticulously ripe, late-harvested grapes, Cantine del Notaio Il Sigillo 2016 is a striking expression of Aglianico del Vulture, hailing from the renowned Basilicata region. This semi-dry wine boasts an intense, fruit-forward aroma, with inviting notes of cherry jam and ripe blackberry. The complexity on the nose continues to evolve, revealing an intricate blend of dark chocolate, liquorice, and subtle spices. On the palate, the wine delivers a rich, full-bodied profile, balanced by a refreshing acidity that maintains its vibrancy despite its depth and concentration.
The wine’s striking ruby red colour, with garnet reflections, perfectly mirrors its multifaceted character. It offers an expansive array of aromas, including berry jam, chocolate, black pepper, dried violet, carob, tobacco, cinnamon, face powder, mace, leather, liquorice, vanilla, and menthol. Winery | Cantine del Notaio, in the green heart of the Basilicata region, is a winery leader in producing wines made from Aglianico del Vulture, a native variety grape. On the most vacated hills of the Vulture area, our grapes grow up at the slopes of the Vulture volcano. The roots deep down the soil take mineral elements and water from the common Tufo volcanic layer that acts as a water reservoir, giving rest to the plants during the hottest days of the year. The wines obtained are full-bodied and intense, with a complex carpet of balsamic notes and great minerality. The production range based on the Aglianico grape is open to different versions, including the traditional red, sparkling, rosè, and white. |
