- A silky and light-bodied Volnay with enticing aromas of sage and plums. An elegant palate shows liquorice, wild strawberry, and raspberry tones that evolve into a lingering cassis finish. Superbly fine tannins give a classy, understated mouthfeel, leading to a lingering finish.
The Pinot Noir vines were planted in 1936 and are low yielding, producing a rich, concentrated style of Volnay. Grown in the Premier Cru named plot of Clos des Chenes, the vines are cultivated according to "la lutte raisonnee", using sustainable agricultural methods and reducing the amount of chemicals, in order to respect the land and its environment. The soils are predominantly limestone and clay.
