  • The grapes for this rosé are selected from old vines that grow from parcels of superior quality. Consistently highly rated by critics and named `the best rosé in the world` by Jancis Robinson MW, this wine does not fail to impress. The palate is full bodied and complex with cream, butter, cherries, ripe plums and orange zest. The structure of the palate is complemented by a fresh acidity which gives a lovely texture and a long, ripe finish.
Described as 'the essence of 100-year-old vines', this full-bodied rosé hails from a single vineyard in the Cotes de Provence and is seriously special. Fermented and aged in French oak barrels, the powerful and elegant vintage will impress anyone who appreciates a fine rose. With a creamy finish and texture plus rich, spicy notes, a brilliantly balanced mix of ripe fruit, fine oak, and freshness, and the potential to age and develop over time, it has infinite appeal.

The appellation of Cotes de Provence covers a wide swathe of land from Aix east to Cannes. Although much of the production is of dry rosé wine made from Cinsault, Carignan, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon, it also covers red and white wines. Provence has a warm Mediterranean climate with adequate rainfall and the cold Mistral wind provides cooling influence but the best sites are usually sheltered.

Sacha Lichine is a man of pedigree. His father, of Russian descent, and American mother, had built their wealth and reputation with a Bordeaux business which included Chateaux Prieurie Lichine and Lascombes in Margaux. Sacha Lichine has continued with the family tradition for innovation, by drawing on his wide experience of winemaking and his keen understanding of consumer needs for a range of contemporary Mediterranean wines with ‘chicken’ labels, whose fruit-forward style makes them immediately enjoyable. They are southern French with a distinct New World accent.
