- 2012 Mazoyères-Chambertin: Here, the wood is no longer subtle as it fights with the otherwise fresh and layered nose of distinctly floral-inflected aromas of ripe red currant and plum. There is a lush and fleshy mouth feel to the equally ripe middle-weight flavours that are delicious but don’t have the same depth on the lingering finish. To be sure, this is perfectly good, but I prefer the overall complexity of the Levant.
