  • (With thanks to Joe Wong and Bonnie Wai). An overtly spicy and beautifully nose is showing only traces of secondary fruit and ample Vosne character. There is both good richness and mid-palate density to the utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors that display good underlying tension while culminating in a wonderfully complex, lingering and balanced finale. Moreover, it shows none of the sometimes-shrill acidity of the 2002 reds and thus the overall sense of balance is really quite lovely. I've had this several times over the years and it has always shown well. I would add that for my taste, this beauty is drinking perfectly now but it should continue to hold for at least another decade and perhaps more.
