Domaine Ramonet Montrachet Grand Cru (Puligny) 2013

  • This is also notably reserved but aggressive swirling eventually liberates the densely fruited and noticeably minty nose that is composed by notes of white peach, pear, honeysuckle, wood and citrus hints. As is also typical, this large-scaled, intense, concentrated and overtly powerful effort is clearly bigger, richer and more imposing than the Chevalier but in 2013 I would describe the palate impression as even more refined than usual as it's taut and focused rather than simply massive. The complexity is already amazing as is the strikingly good persistence of the palate staining and beautifully well-balanced finish. And again like the Chevalier this is an exercise in harmony and grace that should enable this monument in the making to age effortlessly for years to come.
