- Straw-yellow color with greenish hues, clean and bright. It displays intense aromas of white flowers such as acacia blossom and white fruits such as melon and pear, with fine smoky notes and a delicate background of nuts like hazelnut. On the palate, it is complex, rich, and full-bodied, with a tasty and saline taste characteristic of the limestone soil of the Alto Cantabria vineyard. Long and very elegant aftertaste. This wine is a perfect match for appetizers such as sushi, foie grass, and shellfish. It goes great with baked white meats, white sauce pasta, roasted vegetables, and risotto.

The result of blending the noble vines aging for more than 40 years and high-quality soil: this white wine native to the exclusive Alto Cantabria vineyard will make you feel unique. An unforgettable wine with an overwhelming character.
It represents our finest example to show that we were pioneers in working white plot wines with our traditional grape varieties. A wine with an exquisite silky and elegant touch due to its fermentation and aging in French oak barrels, which is hard to achieve with other grape varieties.
Grapes are hand-harvested in small crates and placed in a cold room at the winery to ensure their balance. Once the free-run juice is obtained, a partial fermentation takes
place in stainless steel tanks as well as in French oak barrels. Finally, the wine is aged on its lees for 6 months in French oak barrels with weekly battônage to break the lees and enhance its velvety texture.

| Winery | Fincas Valdemacuco is the first foray outside Rioja for Bodegas Valdemar, who have poured over a century of winemaking experience into this new venture from Spain’s other great Tempranillo-producing region. The grapes come from selected vineyards in the Nava de Roa district near the Duero river itself, and offer a distinctive clarity and freshness of fruit, which sensitive winemaking and a brief passage in oak barrels have served to enhance. |
