Herb Lamb Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain 2016

  • Country USA
  • Region Napa Valley
  • Case size 12 / 75cl
  • This vintage highlights the juicy, sweet fruits of cassis, blueberry, black cherry, and rich raspberry.
  • According to winemaker, Michael Trujillo “The focus in the palate is of fresh juice, with a good weight in the middle and ideal acid balance with fine tannins completing the package. The aromatics are remarkable and continue to develop in the bottle, with fruit that jumps out of the glass. The sweet, juicy red fruit of cherry and raspberry, Mexican spices, Baker chocolate, and forest floor characteristics of the hillside Herb Lamb Vineyard shine in this perfectly balanced vintage. One of the best we have ever created!”
Quiet icons of the Napa Valley, Herb and Jennifer Lamb purchased their house and adjoining seven acres of land in the foothills of the Howell Mountain in 1986, immediately digging out the terraces and planting exclusively to Cabernet Sauvignon. Their first vintage in 1990 produced small quantities of exceptional fruit that was immediately appreciated by winemakers from across the valley, including no less than Ann Colgin, who used the vineyard as the sole source for her signature wine for the next 16 years. Herb and Jennifer first produced under their own label in 1997 and continue to limit production to a mere 3-400 cases per year.
