Quiet icons of the Napa Valley, Herb and Jennifer Lamb purchased their house and adjoining seven acres of land in the foothills of Howell Mountain in 1986, immediately digging out the terraces and planting exclusively to Cabernet Sauvignon. Their first vintage in 1990 produced small quantities of exceptional fruit immediately appreciated by winemakers from across the valley, including Ann Colgin, who used the vineyard as the sole source for her signature wine for the next 16 years. Herb and Jennifer first produced under their label in 1997 and continue to limit production to a mere 3-400 cases per year.

Winery | Herb Lamb Vineyards were founded by Herb and Jennifer Lamb in the late 1980s and, by 1992, were sold to the famous Colgin Cellars. In 1997 they released the inaugural vintage of their own Cabernet Sauvignon. Made by Michael Trujillo, these continue to be some of the most respected Cabernets produced in St Helena today until their final vintage in 2016.
