  • A classic Barbaresco of great mineral expression, with perfumed aromas of red fruit, rose, tea, harmonious oak, and refined tannins which beautifully frame the palate.

Fermentation and skin-contact maceration for around two weeks took place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures, followed by a period of natural sedimentation. The wine was transferred to wood casks where 50% was rested in 50-hl oak casks, and 50% in small oak barriques lasting for 18 to 20 months. Following blending, the wine received further bottle aging for nine months before release.

A classic Barbaresco of great mineral expression, with perfumed aromas of red fruit, rose, tea, harmonious oak and refined tannins which beautifully frame the palate.

The Cascina Tolina vineyard is located in the villages of Treiso and Neviglie in DOCG Barbaresco. It covers a single contiguous plot, which is not common in the Langhe, and comprises almost an entire hill, shaped in a natural amphitheater, with altitudes ranging from 250 to 350 meters. The Guyot-trained vines face south to southeast, providing optimum exposure to sunlight. They were planted in 1950 at a density of 4,000 vines per hectare and in 2001, at a density of 5,000 vines per hectare. The steeper slopes have a harder, more compact subsoil, with a very shallow layer of topsoil that is more vulnerable to erosion. The soils are rich in microelements of magnesium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, and potassium and are considered ideal for producing wines that are austere, tannic, and rich in structure and mineral aromas- in short: the classic soil suitable for Nebbiolo. The name Tulin probably refers to someone who owned or lived on this property in the past: in the Piedmontese dialect the word ‘Tulin’ means a small tin container and the “tulé” was the tinsmith.
