Germany has revolutionised its winemaking over recent years. This wine epitomises the new style of German wines, which have a wonderful balance of fruit, acidity and relatively low alcohol. The wine was fermented in stainless steel at temperatures controlled at approximately 18°C and was fermented through to dryness. The wine was made without any oak influence, in order to retain the purity of fruit and the essence of the terroir.

Expressive Riesling with aromas of green apple, lemon and hints of white peach. The palate is rich and beautifully balanced with a refreshing, dry and mouthwatering finish.

The grapes are produced in the outstanding vineyard sites of the Mittelhaardt. Almost 90% of Weingut Weegmuller's vineyards are located in the top classified region of Haardt. This district takes its name from the low-lying Haardt Mountains, which play a vital role in the terroir here. The grapes for this wine come from a vineyard that is situated on one-third of Haardt soil and two-thirds of Neustadt soil. The soils are made up of sand and clay over deep slate, which helps to impart a touch of minerality to the wine. The name of the wine Mandelring, is thought to come from the German word Mandel, meaning almonds, as there may have been almond trees originally planted on the site. The vineyards are cultivated as naturally as possible.
