- A traditional yet silky style of Burgundy with savoury flavours of earthy undergrowth and leathery notes on the finish. Alluring raspberry and cherry with notes of dried fruits on the nose. This well-structured wine is medium to full-bodied with some earthiness and shows balanced oak with fine, ripe tannins. Silky and smooth on the palate, this is classically elegant.
The manual harvest was followed by careful, manual sorting of the grapes. The vinification was fed by gravity without the use of pumps. A cold maceration lasted for six to seven days and was followed by a natural barrel fermentation with indigenous yeasts from the grapes, which lasted 10 to 15 days. The wine was aged 'sur lies' for 12 months in new oak. The wine was unfined and unfiltered before bottling.
The nose is alluring, with raspberry and cherry notes and dried fruits. Medium to full-bodied with a bit of earthiness, this well-structured wine shows balanced oak and fine ripe tannins. Silky and smooth on the palate, it is classically elegant.

Winery | The 55-year-old vines are grown in the single vineyard Les Marchais, which faces the 1er Cru plots of Lavaux St Jacques and Clos St Jacques. It is one of the best plots in Gevrey Chambertin. The Guyot-trained vines are planted at a high density, with 3,500 per hectare. The vineyards are managed using organic fertilisers and without herbicides or insecticides. Ploughing, pruning, and green harvests all take place. The vineyard soils are clay and limestone with large, chalky pebbles. |
