- Series C takes its name from the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, which defines the style of this wine. This firm, powerful, and concentrated wine is rich in fruit at release and blended for long ageing. This blend displays a dense red-black colour and a magenta-tinged rim. The deep and subtle perfume of violets, cool graphite and layers of dark berry fruit has a captivating complexity. Creme de cassis, black liquorice and fresh juniper berries add to the alluring bouquet.
Series C was matured for twenty-three months in seventy per cent new French oak barrels and ten months in bottles before release. Cellaring this wine for two years will enhance integration and flavour complexity and reward the collector. With proper cellaring, Vilafonté Series C will continue to develop its bouquet and palate for at least a decade and will continue to give pleasure for many more years. Decanting before serving is recommended for any wine of advanced complexity.
