- Dark red with a hue of purple. Intense and complex bouquet of red, black, and blue berries intermixed with notes of blueberries, minerals (graphite, wet river rocks), liquorice, fresh blond tobacco, and a hint of lavender. Full-bodied, the palate is reminiscent of the nose, with a richly tannic yet round frame and great intensity. Located on the hillsides of Calistoga, this vineyard benefits from its proximity to Mount St. Helena, whose warm and windy climate is ideal for the long ripening of the Bordeaux red varietals. Handcrafted by using classical winemaking techniques, this special wine is dedicated to our son, Paul Morlet.
Luc's time as winemaker for Peter Michael Winery gave him an intimate understanding of the Knights Valley, expertise that he has brought to bear in this stunning Bordeaux Blend, which he considers good enough to name in honour of his son. An intense and complex bouquet of red, black, and blueberries intermixed with mineral notes, liquorice, fresh blond tobacco, and a hint of lavender. Full-bodied, the palate has a richly tannic yet round frame and great intensity. The hillside tannins and classical aromatic complexity create a harmonious ensemble, leading to a long finish. Built to age for decades, 2011 is developing beautifully but has many years of life left ahead of it.

Shallow loamy topsoil, rocky alluvial subsoil, and full sun exposure create ideal conditions for our Cabernet Sauvignon vines. |
