  • A gold winner in the Global Pinot Noir Masters awards 2022, planted in the cool foggy region of the Russian River valley, known for its Pinot Noir wines of quality. Deep, fragrant nose of black cherry and raspberry, with savory notes of clove and orange peel. Smooth, long, and elegant; the well-integrated oak and silky tannins promise a long life. It will continue to develop for another 10-15 years, maybe more.

The grapes were harvested September 5-13, hand-sorted, destemmed, and fermented in small stainless steel tanks using our indigenous yeast. The wine was aged in premium French oak barrels, 30% new, coopered by Remond, Rousseau, and Marchive from the forests of Bertranges and Central France. It was bottled, unfined, and unfiltered, in August 2019.

Bright classic color and nose, reminiscent of raspberries and black cherries, with savory notes of orange peel and sage, sandalwood, and sassafras. The palate has scents of violets and orange blossoms, with soft tannins that promise a long life. It will continue to develop for another 10-15 years, maybe more. Serve at cellar temperature, between 58-60° F.

Named after the late patriarch of the Torres family, this sustainable vineyard is located in the Green Valley — the coolest, foggiest region of the Russian River, only ten miles from the Pacific. Planted in the European-style high density of over 2,000 vines/acre, the yields are low and labor intensive; but the vines live longer and the grapes acquire better balance and greater concentration, as well as more elegance and finesse.

In 1981 she started the search for the perfect property to plant a vineyard, and - after two years of searching - she bought 25 hectares of land in Sonoma County, close to the town of Sebastopol in the Russian River Valley appellation, an area which arguably produces the finest Pinot Noir in all of California. Today the Don Miguel Vineyard encompasses 50 planted acres. About 20 are planted with Chardonnay, 20 with Pinot Noir, five with Albariño, five with Tempranillo, two with Syrah and one with an experimental block of Godello.
