Honig Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019

  • Country USA
  • Region California
  • ABV 14.9%
  • Grape  Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Case size 12 / 75cl
  • Aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels. 29% new American Oak, 17% new French Oak, and 54% used barrels. Currant, plum, and black raspberry aromas are intermingled with a mélange of black pepper, nutmeg, and a whisper of dried herbs. The aromas flow through to similar flavors on the palate. Sweet oak pulls it all together, complementing the lush textures. Each vineyard block was harvested and vinified individually and then blended to create a harmonious whole that is unmistakable. Ageing for 18 months, adding soft ripeness and toasty, sweet spice notes. Unmistakeably, this wine is rich, inviting, and complex.

Napa Valley Cabernet Honig uses fruit from their sustainably farmed vineyard in Rutherford and local growers across the valley to make this archetypal. Each vineyard block was harvested and vinified individually and then blended to create a harmonious whole that is unmistakeably 'Honig.' Ageing for 18 months in French and American oak barrels adds soft ripeness and toasty, sweet spice notes. Unmistakeably, Napa's wine is rich, inviting, and complex.

Founded in 1964 as a grape grower, the Honig story really starts in 1984 when 22-year-old Michael Honig dropped out of college to take over the family business. By spending his mornings managing the winery and his afternoons selling door-to-door to San Francisco restaurants, Michael has carefully grown the company to one respected and represented across the US and in 25 countries internationally.
