- A deeply colored wine with complex aromas of ripe red fruits, leather, and attractive hints of undergrowth. A concentrated, yet elegant wine with smooth flavors, harmonious and fine tannins, and a long, layered finish.
Good rains in the autumn of 2019 built the soil water reserves. The mild, dry winter meant that flowering and bud break took place early. A dry, hot summer, without heat spikes, resulted in a long ripening season and the vines drew water from their winter reserves to prevent hydric stress. Cooling breezes kept the vineyards fresh and in a good sanitary state. The grapes were harvested under excellent conditions, resulting in healthy
grapes. The 2020 reds are aromatic with great depth and purity of fruit, with silky tannins and balancing freshness.
Andre Brunel's family first settled in Chateauneuf du Pape in the 18th century. They own 22 hectares in Chateauneuf du Pape and 40 hectares in the Cotes du Rhone. Andre Brunel’s skills have earned him worldwide recognition for the intensity and concentration of his wines, combining modern technical expertise with the traditional power of the region. His son Fabrice has now joined the company to continue the family tradition.
