  • An invitingly fruity wine with a rounded palate and gentle, silky tannins. Appealing aromas of wild berries are enveloped in spicy notes through to a soft and fruity finish.

The grapes were carefully selected and vinified in a combination of temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and concrete tanks to retain the fruit-forward characteristics of this variety. Fermentation took place with selected yeasts at 23 to 25°C, with vatting time lasting 20 days, in order to extract the desired levels of colour, flavour and tannins. The wine was then aged on its fine lees in concrete vats until being gently fined and filtered prior to bottling.

An invitingly fruity wine with a rounded palate and gentle, silky tannins. Appealing aromas of wild berries are enveloped in spicy notes through to a soft and fruity finish.

The vines are grown on a clay-limestone hillside and are pruned according to the Guyot method. Marselan is a crossing between Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon, producing fruit-driven wines. A Languedoc variety, created in Marseilhan in 1961, usually found in blends, it has come into its own at Domaine la Provenquiere. The Marselan vines are planted on a north-facing plot, protecting them from the heat of the sun, and encouraging balancing freshness in the fruit. Certified HVE3, the vineyard is farmed sustainably and uses sexual confusion of predators in place of insecticides. The use of phytosanitary products is kept to a minimum and hedges are planted to increase the biodiversity within the vineyard. Water resources are carefully preserved, important in this warm, dry Mediterranean climate. The vines benefit from the cooling influence of the Mediterranean Sea, promoting a refreshing character in the berries. The grapes are harvested in the cool of the night when they have reached optimum maturity to maintain the quality
