Overview

E. Guigal's La Turque Cote-Rôtie 2020 is a stunning example of the Rhône Valley's exceptional terroir. This wine blends 93% Syrah with 7% Viognier, producing an intense, aromatic wine that is powerful, elegant, and full of complexity. La Turque’s deep ruby red colour with dark tints is visually striking, and the wine offers an exquisite nose of small red fruits, including blackberry and morello cherry, accompanied by floral notes from the Viognier. The 42 months spent in new oak barrels further elevate the wine, contributing refined tannins and a well-balanced structure.

Tasting Notes

Upon tasting, E. Guigal La Turque 2020 offers a supple, velvety attack with a beautifully balanced, refined structure. The wine's concentration and elegant tannins provide a smooth mouthfeel, which reveals layers of deep fruit flavours intertwined with a subtle spice from the oak. The finish is long and harmonious, with the wine showcasing both the virility of the Côte Brune and the delicate femininity of the Côte Blonde. This wine is a true expression of the Cote-Rôtie terroir, where power meets elegance.

Food Pairing

The complexity and structure of La Turque make it an ideal companion to rich dishes such as grilled meats, lamb, or a well-aged cheese platter. Its refined tannins and deep fruit notes will complement the flavours of game, venison, or hearty stews.
