Why Choose Senses Wines MCM88 Russian River Pinot Noir 2021?

The 2021 vintage reveals an expressive bouquet of black raspberries, pomegranate, and delicate floral aromas such as lavender, rose oil, and hints of wild sage. On the palate, expect a seamless interplay of ripe black fruits, refined mineral undertones, and a graceful earthy finish touched by elegant floral notes.
The wine boasts an ABV of 14.5%, a medium body (Body Value: C), and zero residual sugar, making it dry, vibrant, and food-friendly. Bottled under natural cork, this vegan-friendly Pinot Noir contains sulphites but is free from milk and egg derivatives.
Winemaking & Vintage Notes
The 2021 growing season began with a dry winter and below-average rainfall, followed by a cool, extended spring that delayed vine growth until late March. These challenging conditions produced lower yields and smaller berries, leading to intense concentration of flavours, deep colour, and luxurious texture. A temperate harvest season ensured optimal ripeness and balance, captured beautifully in every bottle of Senses Wines MCM88.

Winery | The grapes for the MCM88 come from the famed vineyard formerly known as Keefer Ranch, which produces an exuberant single vineyard Pinot Noir from the block originally farmed by Kosta Browne. The grapes come from a very special block, now known as Perry Ranch, which produces a bold style of Pinot Noir with great concentration and richness. Located in the heart of Green Valley, a sub-AVA of the Russian River Valley, Perry Ranch was planted in 1996 with clones Pommard 4, 114, 777 and 23, and the vineyard covers just over five hectares. Today, the ranch is managed by Steve and Joe Dutton, two acclaimed agriculturalists whose family has been farming in Sonoma for over a hundred years. The Green Valley AVA receives dense morning fogs originating from the Petaluma Gap, which makes for cooler mornings than other regions of the Russian River Valley. The sandy-loam Goldridge soils provide excellent drainage. The fruit is sustainably grown and manually harvested. |
