Winery | The Feudi di San Gregorio vineyards are spread out over lush and gentle hills in Sorbo Serpico, approximately an hour from Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The grapes for this wine come from a mosaic of plots around Tufo, Santa Paolina, and Montefusco. The vineyards are between 350 and 700 meters above sea level, and the soils are volcanic, with a good percentage of clay. The climate is not typically associated with southern Italy, as the winters can be harsh and often snowy, and the summers are breezy rather than scorching hot. The intense diurnal temperature variation, the winds that sweep through the vineyards, and the exposure to the warming sun result in a unique combination set to express the grapes' full potential. The 15-year-old Greco vines are Guyot trained and are cultivated sustainably, with concentrated soil and canopy management to maintain the health and aromatic purity of the grapes. The grapes are hand-harvested. |
