- The nose is powerfully reminiscent of fresh fruits, with dominant notes of citrus and exotic fruits, followed by a touch of jasmine, white peaches, and pink peppercorns. The palate is both precise and clean, as the wine delivers a radiant balance between roundness and smoothness.
Many Champagne houses would like to lay claim to the accolade of being the longest-established house, but only one may do so in truth. Ruinart was established in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart one year after the Royal decree which permitted the transport of bottled wines. The house style is fresh, with a dominance of Chardonnay at the heart of all their cuvees. The Champagnes are still slowly matured in their bottles, in the cool of the underground chalk cellars "Les Crayeres" some 38 meters below the city of Reims, just as they have been doing for centuries.
Ruinart Blanc de Blanc embodies the purity of the Chardonnay grapes from which it is made exclusively. Made primarily from grapes grown in Premier Cru vineyards located in the Cotes des Blancs and Montagne de Reims terroirs, renowned for imparting a refined aromatic quality to the final wine. Supplemented by Sezannais wines, which provide an element of maturity.
