  • A beautifully textured wine with fresh orange zest and pear flavours and a long, persistent and salivating finish. This Pinot Bianco, with its aromas of pear and citrus, shows a complex, buttery flavour, nuances of green leaves, and a hint of minerality. A bright, refreshing finish beautifully balances the rich texture.

    91 Pts, James Suckling, 2023

It was made by winemaker Will Sturz, previously nominated "Italian winemaker of the Year" by the prestigious Gambero Rosso and produced some of Italy's best white wines. The grapes for this wine were harvested in small bins and were gently pressed immediately upon arrival at the winery. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 19°C. No malolactic conversion took place, resulting in a fresh, crisp style of wine. The wine was spent briefly in stainless steel vats, retaining the freshness and purity of the fruit until it was bottled.

Dry, crisp, and refreshing, with delicate fruit aromas of green apples, nutty complexity, and hints of green leaves. The wine shows a beautiful balance between bright acidity and rich texture.

The vineyards are located in Sudtirol, in the Alto Adige DOC. Alto Adige is a dynamic wine-growing region in Northern Italy that combines a brisk Alpine climate, mountain viticulture, and complex geology with the brilliance of Mediterranean sunshine. The grapes come from vineyards planted in calcareous clay and gravel soils at an altitude of between 250 and 550 metres above sea level. The yield is 75 hectolitres per hectare.

Cantina Tramin was founded in 1898 and has 310 member winegrowers who follow its strict directives on cultivating the vines. The vineyards are an integral part of the enchanting and picturesque landscape of the Alto-Adige region of Northern Italy and cover 260 hectares on the sunny slopes of the region at altitudes ranging from 250 to 850 metres above sea level. In 2011, Cantina Tramin gained the "Double Stella" award. This is given to a winery for achieving the prestigious "3 Bicchieri" 20 times and is awarded by the Gambero Rosso.
