This exceptional vintage showcases the remarkable craftsmanship of the Torre de Ona winery, which has made a name for itself by producing wines that are a harmonious balance of tradition and modernity.
With a blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% other indigenous grape varieties, the 2015 Reserva captures the essence of the Rioja terroir. It offers a refined structure, a well-balanced mouthfeel, and an aromatic profile that lingers long after each sip. On the nose, this wine impresses with its complex bouquet of ripe berries, subtly combined with hints of liquorice, clove, pepper, and balsamic notes that add depth and intrigue.
The long, smooth finish is a testament to the perfect harmony between the wine’s rich fruitiness and its nuanced spicy layers. Winery | The grapes come from the eponymous vineyard in Torre de Ona, in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, with a natural diversity of varieties: Tempranillo, Mazuelo, Garnacha and some Viura. The vineyard is over 60 years old and lies at 630 metres elevation, with a north-to-south orientation, which offers the vines excellent exposure to the sun. Ventilating winds help to keep the vines healthy and achieve excellent, even ripening with balancing acidity. La Rioja Alta is committed to protecting the environment; in the limited vineyard treatments, they invest in clean energy sources and reuse water. Shelters Some vineyards have been installed for certain insects and arachnids that are beneficial for viticulture, thus promoting environmentally friendly plant health defence and increasing the biodiversity in the vineyards. |
