An Exceptional Grand Cru Pinot Noir from Burgundy
The Domaine Drouhin-Laroze Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 2011 is a remarkable expression of one of Burgundy’s most prestigious terroirs. Sourced from a 1.5-hectare parcel of old vines planted in 1949, this Grand Cru Pinot Noir offers both heritage and finesse. The 2011 vintage brings incredible purity, freshness, and complexity to the bottle.
Allen Meadows (Burghound) awarded it an impressive 92–95 points, praising its “extraordinarily spicy and complex nose”, along with its “vibrant, concentrated, extract-rich flavours” and a “dusty, long, and impressively deep finish”. This is a classic Clos de Bèze, capturing the best of this Grand Cru climat with age-worthy structure and undeniable charm.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Aromatic and refined, the bouquet reveals layered notes of cassis, red berries, wild plum, and violets, all wrapped in a veil of exotic spice and earthy undertones.
Palate
Silky yet structured, the palate delivers rich concentration, lively acidity, and a mineral edge. Ripe red and black fruits mingle with a floral freshness, leading into a long, dusty finish that lingers beautifully.
Finish
Exceptional length and depth, with integrated tannins and a fine aging potential—drinking beautifully now and will evolve gracefully through 2023–2035.

Winery | 2011 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze: (from a parcel of 1.5 ha of vines planted in 1949). An extraordinarily spicy and complex nose evidences cool, fresh and admirably pure cassis, red berries and plum aromas. A floral note on the vibrant, concentrated, extract-rich flavours coats the palate on the dusty, long, and impressively deep finish. It's a classic Bèze and well worth considering. 92-95 points Allen Meadows, Burghound /2023+ |
