  • 2022 produced a beautifully crafted Meursault with fragrant aromas of honeysuckle and hints of vanilla. The wine offers a richly textured and harmonious palate with flavours of white peach, buttery notes, and a charming finish. Despite intense weather conditions including frost, heatwaves, and drought, the vines remained resilient and produced generous quantities of wine. The result is a captivating balance and freshness that will surely delight wine lovers worldwide.

Gentle pressing took place in a pneumatic press, which allows for perfect juice extraction without overpressing the grapes. The wine was vinified and aged in French oak barrels, with a proportion of 20% new oak. Ageing took place on the lees, lasting 15 months, with occasional stirring contributing to the rich texture.

A beautifully crafted Meursault with fragrant aromas of honeysuckle entwined with vanilla nuances leads to a richly textured and harmonious palate of white peach, buttery notes, and a charming finish.

The Chardonnay grapes for this cuvée come from the Meursault 1er Cru vineyard of ‘Le Porusot’, which covers approximately 10 hectares. The name ‘Porusot’ comes from the nature of the soil; in the local dialect ‘, Porusot’ refers to soil covered with stones; it is the diminutive of Porroux, which originates in the Latin word Petrosa (stony place). The subsoil is mainly clay-limestone; the clay component offers good soil water retention properties, while the limestone contributes to elegant wines. The grapes are handpicked from different vines located on the mid-slopes, which enjoy a southern to southwestern exposure, ideal for providing the maximum amount of sunlight to encourage ripening and maturity of the fruit. The wines from Meursault are typically rich with nutty,
honeyed hints and buttery vanilla spice from the oak.
