| Winery | The 1er Cru vineyard is situated south of Meursault in the Blagny area, where the vines make up a plot of 40 oeuvres (approximately two hectares), which were planted in 1959 and again in 2010 in this exceptionally chalky soil. The plot is located on the top of the hill overlooking Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, in what is known as the Hameau de Blagny. The vines here form a basin rich in white marl and produce low yields of concentrated wines with excellent natural balancing acidity. The hamlet is on the border with Puligny-Montrachet and is the highest point in Meursault, at 330 metres, situated on the edge of the woods. The vineyard is cultivated sustainably and is HVE Level 3 certified. Research is being conducted to analyse the soil geology to measure the impact of the cultivation decisions on the vine and the resulting wine. The grapes are hand-harvested. |
