| Winery | This cuvee is produced from the vineyards in the southern part of Asti, where the soil is clayey and calcareous with a good sand content. The vineyard is planted with an easterly to south-easterly exposure, and the vines are Guyot-trained. Harvest takes place manually when the grapes have reached optimum maturity. Michele Chiarlo is one of Piedmont's most prestigious winemakers, producing outstanding wines from some of the most exceptional sites in Piedmont, including Barolo’s world-famous Cannubi and Cerequio vineyards. Founded in 1956 by Michele Chiarlo and now run by his sons Alberto and Stefano, the Chiarlo philosophy “is to capture the terroir” from their sustainably cultivated vineyards, which hold the VIVA certification. With judicious use of oak, they handcraft a selection of wines suitable for ageing, some of which can be enjoyed earlier.
