Wine Description:
The JFW Hartford Court Stone Cote Vineyard Chardonnay 2021 represents the pinnacle of Sonoma Coast winemaking. This single-vineyard bottling showcases the true character of the region with its vibrant aromas and rich flavour profile. The wine opens with an inviting nose of white peach, spiced pears, and orange blossom, complemented by delicate notes of hazelnuts and crushed rocks. The youthful golden hue reflects its freshness, while the aromas of fresh peach, flinty earth, and a touch of lemon rind add complexity.
On the palate, this full-bodied Chardonnay offers a luxurious mouthfeel with a soft, supple texture. The wine is round and fruit-forward, delivering ripe fruit flavours with a refreshing lift on the finish. A subtle interplay of sweet baking spices, honeydew melon, and wet stone adds depth to the experience, while its long finish ensures an elegant and memorable conclusion.
Crafted with exceptional care by Jackson Family Wines, this Stone Cote Vineyard Chardonnay is unfined and unfiltered, allowing its true terroir to shine through. The well-managed oak influence enhances the wine’s complexity without overpowering its natural fruit characteristics.

Winery | The Stone Cote Vineyard is a small vineyard block within the renowned Durell Vineyard, which sits upon an ancient riverbed at the southern end of the Sonoma Coast AVA. The vineyard’s topography was shaped aeons ago by a river flowing through volcanic and sedimentary rock on its way to San Pablo Bay. Tumbled and water-worn river rocks now litter the landscape, and very little topsoil remains. The nutritionally challenged soils force the vines to search deeply for nutrients and water, and as a result, the stressed vines yield very small clusters with intense varietal flavours. Climatically, this vineyard site is characterized by relatively cool daytime temperatures and maritime breezes, which marry with the low-fertility soils to create an ideal site for growing Chardonnay. The wine’s flinty aromas and mineral-laden finish reflect this vineyard’s intrinsic terroir. |
