| Winery | The Domaine Mirabeau is situated in the Plaine des Maures, which falls within the area of a designated soil type called crystalline' within the Côtes de Provence Appellation. The soil composition is predominantly micro-schist and sand with clay, sitting on the Permian (red) sandstone bedrock. Surrounded by the Plaines des Maures Nature Reserve, it boasts one of the region's most fascinating landscapes and biodiversity levels. The secluded 20-hectare estate includes 14 hectares of vines surrounded by umbrella pines, cork oak trees and chestnut groves. Soil health is placed at the centre of everything they do at Domaine Mirabeau, which involves revitalisation of the soils through cover cropping and progressive elimination of ploughing, promoting biodiversity through planting trees, hedges and welcoming bees, alpacas, chickens and pigs to fertilise the land and minimise external inputs naturally. |
