The grapes come from south-facing parcels on the hillside slopes of the foothills of the Sainte-Victoire Mountain range. The poor soils are rich in gravelly limestone, contributing to the fruit's aromatic expression. At the same time, a clay-rich element retains water to nourish the vines through the warm Mediterranean summers. The diurnal temperature swings with cold nights and hot days, along with the influence of the fresh Mistral winds, imbues the wines from this area with distinctive minerality. Further blending elements from the schist parcels under the Maure Mountains and the deeper soils of the upper Var region bring richness and structure. The vines are trained according to the Cordon de Royat method and the vineyards are sustainably cultivated to promote soil and vine health and biodiversity.
