Wine Description:
The Delaire Graff Botmaskop Stellenbosch 2021 is a bold and elegant red wine that showcases the finest qualities of South Africa’s Western Cape region. This carefully crafted blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Cabernet Franc, 11% Petit Verdot, and 8% Merlot delivers a well-balanced wine with complexity and finesse.
On the nose, the wine opens with classic aromas of cassis, dark fruit, and subtle spices that give way to a rich, structured palate. The mid-palate reveals layers of liquorice and ripe blackberry flavors, elegantly framed by fine, lingering tannins that create a smooth, long finish. This wine’s polished texture and refined character make it an excellent choice for cellaring or enjoying on special occasions.
With an alcohol content of 14.5%, the Delaire Graff Botmaskop 2021 stands out as a medium-bodied wine that offers remarkable depth and balance. The wine's touch of residual sugar at 1.3 g/l adds just the right amount of roundness without overshadowing the fruit-driven profile.

Winery | The grapes come from a selection of premium Stellenbosch vineyards. The vines range from 13 to 22 years of age and are trellised on a five-wire Perold system, a form of a vertical trellis that helps protect the vines from wind damage. The climate is Mediterranean, with warm, dry summers mitigated by the ocean's cooling sea breezes, resulting in a slower ripening process encouraging natural balancing acidity to balance the concentrated fruit flavours. The terroir comprises Hutton leaf and Tukulu soils derived from granite and has good physical and water-retention properties. The vineyards are cultivated sustainably and are certified by IPW. They were hand-picked in the cool early hours of the South African morning to retain freshness. |
