Description: Chateau Mayne Mazerolles 2020 is a classic example of a Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux wine, showcasing the elegance and depth of traditional Bordeaux winemaking. This wine is a rich blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Malbec, resulting in a full-flavoured yet balanced profile. The nose is fragrant with dark, black fruit notes and subtle hints of spicy vanilla oak and wild herbs, particularly sage. On the palate, the wine offers a luxurious texture, highlighted by velvety tannins and a harmonious blackberry finish that lingers.
The wine is crafted using traditional Bordeaux vinification methods, including pre-fermentation maceration at low temperatures to preserve the vibrant fruit flavours. The fermentation process takes place at controlled temperatures to ensure a well-rounded taste. To enhance complexity and depth, 20% of the wine was aged in barrels for six months, while the remaining portion was kept in vats to maintain its purity and freshness.
Perfect for those who appreciate structured yet smooth wines with a touch of oak influence, Chateau Mayne Mazerolles 2020 is an ideal companion to a variety of dishes, from roasted meats to cheese platters.

The Chateau is located in Cars, in the appellation of Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux. The vineyard comprises south-facing plots on a plateau with clay-limestone soils and a terroir known locally as 'groups', which is formed of small, white pebbles. The vineyard is cultivated according to traditional and sustainable viticulture practices, emphasising respect for the soil, the environment, and the vine. The vines are trained according to the double Guyot system and are carefully pruned to ensure a maximum yield of 45 hectolitres per hectare. The soil under the vines is scattered with oats or barley to produce green manure; insecticides are not used. The vineyard is in conversion to organic.
