- The grapes for this cuvée come from two plots rich in clay and with a high flint content, known as Silex. Silex is sedimentary soil rich in flint, renowned for imbuing wines with a distinctive flinty mineral character. The clones are low-yielding and produce healthy fruit with excellent maturity. A fresh, invigorating, and mineral expression of Sancerre from the famous Silex soils, this stunning cuvée shows beautiful structure and longevity.
The grapes were sorted and gently pressed. Fermentation of the must took place with carefully selected neutral yeasts to allow the characteristics of the terroir to be revealed. The wine was aged for 12 months in stainless steel to preserve the purity of the fruit.

Winery | The 55-hectare estate comprises 93 plots over Thauvenay, Menétreol, Bué, Sancerre and Crezancy villages. This combination allows the selection of the best plots from a range of terroirs with distinct microclimates, resulting in complexity in the wine. The region's rolling hills and semi-continental climate produce beautifully structured Sauvignon Blancs that are crisp and fresh, evoking aromas of ripe gooseberries, smoke, and gunflint notes. The three characteristic terroirs of the Sancerre appellation are represented: Terres Blanches, Silex and Caillottes. Terres Blanches is extremely rich in shellfish fossils and has the distinctive characteristic of turning white when it dries, hence its local name. It is usually found on the hilltops and the slopes. Silex is sedimentary soil rich in flint and renowned for imbuing wines with a distinctive flinty mineral character. Caillottes is rich in fragments of Kimmeridgian limestone and produces wines of elegance. |
