The volcanic origin of the Veneto land results in limestone and basalt characteristics, in which the Garganega grapes flourish. Only the best grapes are carefully selected from Ca' Rugate's vineyards in Brognoligo di Monteforte d'Alpone, where the vines yield 80 quintals per hectare. Since 2004, all of Ca' Rugate's vineyards have been cultivated using the most natural methods possible for environmental sustainability. Chemical fertilisers are not used; cow manure is employed on a three-year to five-year cycle, and organic soil improvers and organo-mineral fertilisers are employed.
