Wine Description:
The Vietti Barbaresco Roncaglie 2020 is a refined and sophisticated expression of the Nebbiolo grape, offering a rich, full-bodied profile with exceptional balance. It envelops the palate with soft, silky tannins and a captivating finish marked by a subtle hint of almond. The flavour profile is dominated by the combination of red and dark fruits, delicately interwoven with oak spice. The 2020 vintage, though influenced by a warm growing season, produced perfectly ripe grapes, thanks to a dry early season followed by spring rainfall and a hot summer with occasional rain. September was a crucial month for the grapes' phenolic ripening, leading to wines with great intensity, concentration, and ageing potential. The resulting wine is a powerful yet graceful Barbaresco with excellent cellaring potential, making it an excellent choice for wine collectors and enthusiasts alike.

Winery | The grapes for this wine come from the ‘Roncaglie’ Menzioni Geografiche Aggiuntive (MGA), which is a specifically delineated vineyard in the municipality of Barbaresco, which has always been recognized as one of the most premium areas. The combination of the limestone and clay-rich soils, the south-to-south-westerly orientation benefits from optimal exposure to the ripening sun, and the elevation at approximately 280 meters above sea level combine to produce beautifully balanced and refined Barbarescos. The average age of Guyot-cultivated vines is around 34 years, and they are planted at a density of around 4,600 vines per hectare. The vines are sustainably cultivated and manually harvested. |
