Buy Theopetra Estate Meteora Xinomavro Rosé 2023 Online – Dry Greek Rosé Wine from Meteora

A Premium Greek Rosé from the Iconic Meteora Region

The Theopetra Estate Meteora Xinomavro Rosé 2023 is a beautifully expressive dry rosé wine made from 100% Xinomavro grapes. Hailing from the dramatic landscapes of Meteora in Greece, this wine reflects the unique terroir of the region and the craftsmanship of renowned winemaker George Kotseridis.

Pale pink in the glass, this 2023 vintage opens with vibrant aromas of sanguine orange, pink grapefruit, and white peach, seamlessly layered with raspberry and a subtle, refreshing herbal note on the finish. The balance of fruit and minerality makes it an exceptional choice for those who enjoy elegant, dry rosé wines.

Winemaking Process & Quality

Crafted using a four-hour pre-fermentation maceration to extract delicate colour and aroma, the must was gently pressed using a pneumatic press. Clarification occurred naturally through gravity before fermentation at controlled temperatures (15–17°C) in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matured for three months on fine lees, enhancing its silky texture and complexity.

The grapes come from the Platanos vineyard on the hilly slopes of 5 to 10% gradient at 230 metres. The climate is continental, with cold winters and sunny, dry summers. Frequent northerly winds from the Pindos Mountains cool the vines and prevent disease development. High diurnal temperatures during spring and summer give the grapes intense aromas, high natural acidity and concentrated flavours. The soils are sandy clay with a high presence of limestone composed of marine fossils, combined with a slate subsoil, which results in shallow vineyards, providing excellent drainage. This particular composition of soil results in low yields and the resulting wine is characterised by high acidity and minerality. The double-cordon trained and spur-pruned Xinomavro vines are planted with an east/west row orientation and are cultivated organically. Strict green harvests further help keep the yields low, and the fruit is full of concentrated flavours when hand-harvested in the early morning hours.
