| Winery | The Grecchetto di Todi grapes come from a single vineyard, Fiorfiore, in the Todi subregion of Umbria. The microclimate experiences cold and rainy winters and cool, ventilated summers, which help to produce a refreshing vibrancy to the grapes. The vineyard is 300 to 380 meters above sea level, where considerable thermal excursions between day and night allow the fruit's slow, gradual ripening, encouraging rich flavours balanced by natural acidity. The soils comprise white clay, calcareous marl, chalk, and sand, offering the vines great nutrients and balance. The Guyot-trained vines are carefully cultivated following sustainable and organic principles. Weeding occurs in alternate rows; care is taken to prevent soil erosion and compaction; green manure is used for fertilization; grasses and Cruciferae plants improve soil structure and fertility. |
