- A soft, gently sparkling rose with elegant notes of wild, ripe berries, complemented by subtle toasty nuances. Tangy and crisp, with a long, refreshing finish. The grapes come from the best vineyards of the Franciacorta DOCG in Lombardy, where the topography follows an amphitheatre shape formed by ancient glacial activity.
The grapes were gently and gradually pressed, with fractioning of the must. Alcoholic fermentation took place with selected yeasts in stainless steel vats. Skin contact maceration of the grapes lasted for a few hours to impart the delicate pale pink hue and express the Pinot Nero aromatics. The wine did not go through malolactic conversion, retaining a crisp style. The blend uses 10% reserve wines, aged in a combination of French oak barriques and tonneaux. The secondary fermentation to obtain the sparkling wine took place in a bottle; the wine was refined on the lees for 24 months and a further two months following disgorgement.

Winery | The grapes come from the best vineyards of the Franciacorta DOCG, in Lombardy, where the topography follows an amphitheater shape formed by ancient glacial activity. The Morainic soils were formed during the last Ice Age; gravely, stony soils are well-drained and rich in minerals. The vineyards are greatly influenced by the cold winds coming from the Alps; however, the effects of Lake d'Iseo mitigate the continental climate. The vines are Guyot and spur-cordon trained. For over 20 years, Guido Berlucchi has been at the forefront of innovation and sustainability projects, such as vigour mapping the use of satellite images and multispectral cameras that capture plants' photosynthetic activity and, consequently, their state of health in real-time, which allows for bespoke cultivation; soil zoning and increasing biodiversity in viticulture. Organic fertilizers are employed, natural cover crops help to reduce evapotranspiration, and integrated pest management strategies safeguard useful insects and improve the vineyard ecology. The grapes are hand-harvested. |
