Gaia Wines Monograph Assyrtiko Peloponnese 2024 is a bright and vibrant expression of Greece’s most iconic white grape, crafted with precision by acclaimed winemaker Yiannis Paraskevopoulos. Sourced from the sun-soaked Peloponnese region, this dry white wine delivers a flinty, mineral-driven profile with outstanding freshness and clarity.

Made from 100% Assyrtiko, this wine opens with aromas of lime zest, green apple, and a burst of tropical fruit, layered with delicate floral hints of honeysuckle. On the palate, it is crisp and focused, showcasing a zesty citrus core, subtle salinity, and a long, mineral finish. With only 2g/l of residual sugar and 12.5% ABV, it is an ideal match for Mediterranean dishes, seafood, and vibrant salads.

The Assyrtiko grapes are grown in the in semi-mountainous limestone soils of Koutsi of Nemea. The soils are rich in calcium carbonate with a relatively neutral pH, and like most limestone soils in Greece, they have low organic matter content. The 15-year-old vines are planted at 600 metres altitude with a south-westerly orientation where the Assyrtiko vines flourish in the free-draining soils. The winters are relatively cold and wet, rarely falling below 0°C. Summers are hot but without excessive temperatures; however, a few thunderstorms in June are common. A long autumn follows, and the warm days and cool nights of September, combined with typically dry conditions, form ideal conditions for the maturation of the grapes. The vineyard is carefully pruned strictly to reduce yields and produce fruit with concentrated flavours.
