The El Enemigo Valle de Uco Mendoza Chenin Blanc 2023 is an exceptional expression of the Chenin Blanc grape, cultivated in the pristine Ugarteche vineyard, located in the heart of Mendoza's Valle de Uco region. This wine showcases the purity and elegance of this often-underappreciated varietal, offering a refreshing and vibrant profile with distinct minerality, balanced acidity, and a delicate mouthfeel.
Crafted entirely from 100% Chenin Blanc, this wine is a testament to sustainable and natural winemaking practices. It is fermented in concrete pools using wild yeast, with temperatures maintained below 18°C (64°F) for 40 days, allowing for a slow and natural fermentation process that preserves the wine's fresh fruit characteristics and enhances its complexity. With no oak ageing, the El Enemigo Valle de Uco Chenin Blanc 2023 retains its bright, unadulterated flavours, showcasing the true essence of its terroir.
The soil in the Ugarteche vineyard is rich in clay, contributing to the wine’s characteristic minerality, while the relatively cool climate of the region helps retain acidity, giving this wine its crisp and refreshing finish. At 12.5% ABV, it strikes the perfect balance between body and lightness, making it versatile for pairing with a wide range of dishes.
