Wine Description:
The Domaines Minchin Le Claux Delorme Valencay 2022 offers an impressive expression of Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley. It bursts with bright aromas of citrus zest, ripe peach, and pear, perfectly complemented by delicate eucalyptus notes and a distinctive minerality. The wine’s freshness and remarkable balance make it an exceptional choice for any occasion. The citrus and floral notes lead seamlessly into a long and elegant finish, making this vintage truly stand out.
The 2022 vintage exceeded expectations, with an ideal combination of richness and balance. Despite a challenging summer marked by intense heat waves, the vines remained healthy and disease-free, yielding a bountiful harvest after the low volumes of 2021. A brief hailstorm during the second day of harvesting caused minimal disruption, ensuring the harvest was of excellent quality, with vibrant colour extraction and perfect acidity. The resulting wine is a true reflection of the vintage’s ideal conditions, showcasing both complexity and finesse.

Winery | Valeneay became an AOC appellation in 2003 and is situated in the eastern part of the Loire Valley, approximately 60 miles west of Sancerre. The terroir is characterised by clay, limestone and flinty soils, which impart distinctive mineral characteristics to the wine. The northern, cool climate influences the region, resulting in lively wines from grapes with characteristic high acidity levels. Domaine Minchin is certified by Haute Valeur Environmental, and the vineyards are managed according to a strict sustainable philosophy known as la lutte maisonnette. The vineyard is planted with grass, and the soil is tilled and worked to ensure the health and vigour of the vine while encouraging beneficial biodiversity. Debudding takes place in spring, and careful canopy management is performed in summer, including thinning, which enables the grapes to reach optimal ripeness and concentrates the flavours in the berries. |
