Tasting Notes:
On the nose, Domaine Gerard Millet Sancerre 2024 offers a vibrant bouquet of citrus fruits, primarily grapefruit and zesty lemon. These aromas give way to a fresh and well-rounded palate with the characteristic minerality of Sancerre wines. The wine’s crisp acidity is balanced by a satisfying weight, culminating in a clean, refreshing finish that makes it perfect for pairing with seafood, salads, and light cheeses.
This Sancerre stands out for its exceptional clarity, vibrant character, and superb drinkability. A true representation of the Loire Valley’s finest Sauvignon Blanc, it is a versatile wine suitable for any occasion, from casual dinners to sophisticated gatherings.
The appellation of Sancerre is part of the 'central vineyards' of the Loire Valley, with almost all of the appellation situated on the left bank of the Loire River, opposite Pouilly Fume. This region has a continental climate, as it is some 400 kilometres from the Atlantic Coast, with short, hot summers and long, cold winters. Early spring frosts are an annual threat in the vineyards. These vines are grown in chalky soils, providing good drainage. Domaine Gerard Millet holds the Haute Valeur Environmental (HVE) certification, which officially recognises the environmental performance of winegrowers, including biodiversity conservation, plant protection strategies, managed fertiliser use and water resource management.
